Use of olive oil and lemon juice is one of the best and safest ways to lighten hair without splurging your money on chemical based hair lightening products. Lemon juice contains natural hair lightening properties so, you can use it to lighten your hair naturally. Given below are some simple tips on how to lighten hair with olive oil and lemon juice.

  • Mix juice of 2-5 lemon, two tablespoons of olive oil (if you want you can also use canola or vegetable oil) and one tablespoon of warm water together.
  • Massage the resultant mixture into damp hair.
  • Sit out in the sun for about 2 hours but, do not forget to wear protective clothing and a good quality sunscreen before sun exposure. You can also use hair dryer to blow dry your hair.
  • Lastly, wash your hair.
  • Repeat the same process to get the desired results. It will take approx. 4 to 5 tries to provide noticeable results.

    1. Lemon juice lightens your hair. I'm not so sure about the olive oil, but I'm sure it works because you can use tanning oil and baby oil also to lighten your hair. All you have to do is add lemon juice, or baby oil, in your hair then sit out in the sun. Repeat a few times and then you'll gradually start seeing a difference in color. Recently I've been doing it and my hair is naturally pitch black and its now a medium brown but its still a little on the dark side but you can definitely see the difference
